The Careers & Ideas team cover our Barry campus for 3 days every week. Pop on down to the careers room and we’ll be able to see you on the spot, or schedule an appointment with you if a Career Coach isn’t available that day.

Melissa Wilson:

With a background in university admissions and a keen interest in the education sector, it’s Melissa’s priority to ensure that all learners get the chance they deserve to achieve their goals.

Kevin has worked at numerous student unions, universities and colleges in a pastoral care role. He’s a friendly face who is excited help our learners with careers guidance.

Previously working as a Rowing Coach for Welsh Rowing, Liz is dedicated to supporting the next generation of learners in achieving their goals.

The National Careers Service is the UK Government’s careers advice service. You can find information about hundreds of career pathways, training opportunities, and progression choices here.

Prospects offers advice and guidance on a huge number of career pathways. Not sure how to get to your dream career? Prospects is the place to go.

Careers Wales can help you to plan your career, prepare to get a job, and find and apply for the right apprenticeships, courses and training.

ACT  have hundreds of opportunities and vacancies specifically for young people who are looking to get started in the world of work or improve on their career prospects.

If you’re applying to University, you’ll need to get familiar with UCAS. They’ve got a range of guides and resources to help you with anything from setting up your account, to writing a great personal statement. Check the guides out here.
